Stanz - Schrofenstein ruins

From Stanz, the trail leads eastward, slightly ascending and without a major change in direction, to the end of the forest road, from where you have a magnificent view of the Schrofenstein ruins.

From the parking lot you walk 150 m east along the Jakobsweg, past the house of baroque master builder Jakob Prantauer (Edelbrennerei Christoph Kössler), and after another 50 m turn left. Now follow the road for 650 m until you leave the asphalt road to the left in front of a farm building onto a forest path. Follow the forest road for 400 m until you reach the junction for the last section. From here you have a wonderful view of the Schrofenstein ruins (privately owned). Return past the Stanz parish church to the starting point.
