Fließer Platte - Via Claudia Augusta

Following in the footsteps of history: The hike across the Fließer Platte along the Via Claudia Augusta combines stunning natural scenery, sweeping views, and Roman history.

The Via Claudia Augusta was developed into a state road under Emperor Claudius in 46/47 AD. It led from Altinum on the Adriatic and from the Po via Feltre, Trento, Bolzano, Merano, Reschen, Fernpass, Augsburg to the Danube. The Via Claudia Augusta Tirol documentation centre is located opposite the museum. Here, finds from the Roman imperial road and a copy of the Tabula Peutingeriana provide information about transport and the road network in the Roman Empire.
