Thematic route

Waalweg Stanz - Grins

This tour is called after an ancient irrigation system - the so-called "Waalen" - and runs on a gently undulating narrow path through the forest to above Grins and back over the forest path.

Starting at the parking lot in the center of Stanz you head east for about 60 m. Then turn left, continue for another 130 m and keep left heading west into the forest. After about 450 m you‘ll reach the statue “der Kreuz Tragende“ (by Ch. Moschen). Follow the signs “Waalweg“ until you arrive above Grins after about 3 km. Then follow the signs heading east and you‘ll get to a fork in the forest path after 1 km. Keep following the signs which lead you back to your starting point in Stanz.
