Tyrol panorama

THE TIROL PANORAMA with Kaiserjägermuseum is Tyrol's most recent museum. At the heart of the Haus am Bergisel is the Innsbruck Riesenrundgemälde, which shows the Tyrolean freedom struggle of 1809 in a fascinating and breathtaking 360 degree view over 1000 m².

The painting, created in 1896, documents all the facets that make up the "Myth of Tyrol". It shows landscapes and people, the irrepressible urge for freedom and the ensuing struggle, the strong connection to religion and God. The sculptural effect of the painting makes the viewer part of the dramatic events of the Tyrolean struggle for freedom, whose central figure was Andreas Hofer. Underground, THE TIROL PANORAMA is connected to the Regimental Museum of the Tyrolean Kaiserjäger.
