Zams is located in a nature-filled valley basin, on the eastern edge of a vast settlement chamber, where the Inn from the southwest draws an s-shaped large loop.
In Zams, the climate is mild, milder than the climate in most other regions of the Inn Valley. In the so-called "Landecker Becken" winters are less snowy, the average annual temperatures are higher and there is less precipitation. The history of Zams is marked by the favorable location on the important east-west axis, which has contributed significantly to the good economic recovery. Zams also has an old tradition in hospitals and schools.
