On Saturday, October 4 at 7:00 pm, the duo "Da Chara" consisting of David Arroyabe on violin and Caroline Preißl on guitar will play in the Burschlkirche
The multi-stringed tonal possibilities of the guitar-violin combination and the extremely appealing repertoire for this instrumentation inspired Caroline Preißl and David Alexander Arroyabe to make music together in 2009. The name Da Chara (Gaelic: Two Friends) is the title of a work by composer Ian Krouse from the duo's repertoire and also became the name of the duo due to the initials, which coincide with the first names of the two musicians.
Over the years, they have created colorful concert programs, spontaneously and freshly performed at the highest level: Classical duos (Giuliani, Carulli, Paganini) are just as much a part of Da Chara's extensive repertoire as folk-inspired compositions from a wide variety of countries, such as South American tangos, sambas or Irish folk music.
More recent music by Bartók or Werner Pirchner as well as jazz-inspired pieces, commissioned compositions and their own arrangements are performed by the duo with great interpretative sensitivity. The Innsbruck-based duo is particularly adept at skillfully combining works from a wide variety of genres and allowing them to be experienced anew through the exciting contrasts this creates.
In the course of this fruitful collaboration, Da Chara have grown particularly fond of some works and have become indispensable gems in their concert programs.
