Zammer bassoon player Lukas Schmid is a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and will be a guest at Landeck Castle on April 27 at 7:00 pm. He will be accompanied by harpsichordist Johannes Maria Bogner
The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's Lukas Schmid gives a bassoon concert in the Gothic hall at Landeck Castle and delights audiences with pieces by Telemann, Vivaldi and Fasch, who have played a decisive role in shaping the expressive richness of the bassoon. The works unfold the tonal variety and virtuosity of this instrument and bring out its lyrical and playful side.
He began his professional career as principal bassoonist in the Carinthian Symphony Orchestra. He then moved to the Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich in the same position. He has been principal bassoonist in the Vienna State Opera Orchestra since 2021 and a member of the Vienna Philharmonic since September 2024. There he plays nationally and internationally in the world's most renowned concert halls. Parallel to his orchestral activities, he regularly performs in various chamber music formations. Lukas Schmid plays on a Superior bassoon by J. Püchner and builds his own bassoon reeds.
