The exhibition "Under the Hat", which will be on display at the Hypo branch in Landecker Malserstrasse from September 25, 2024, deals with life as a woman yesterday, today and tomorrow
Conceived by photographer Melitta Abber, the presentation shows Abber's photographs as well as texts and symbols of womanhood. Works by Herta Pechtl (ceramics), Evi Kirchmair-Krismer (quilts from the series: Globalization, Seilschaft, Gezähmt/in Ordnung), Barbara Hauser (Mädels) and texts by Kathrin Deisenberger are united in the presentation. All the works on display invite visitors to engage with the theme of womanhood.
In our everyday lives today, equal opportunities are often used as an argument. The fact that this does not actually exist and will not exist for a long time to come is often denied in discussions and by authorities. If you observe the current discourse on femininity, gender equality and the image of women, you quickly realize that equality is still a long way off and that the image of women that is propagated today is once again a very retrograde one.
The exhibitors deal with the topic in an individual way and provide insights into women's lives; how they were, how they are and how they should be.
The presentation will be on display in Landeck (Malserstrasse 11) for one month from September 25.
The vernissage is on September 25, at 6.30 pm
Opening hours of the exhibition:
Thu., Fri., Sat. 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
