The ensemble StimmOktav emerged out of the motivation to provide a stage for the rich and varied vocal music in East Tyrol and at the same time to grow in the musical challenge. Eight young East Tyroleans have joined forces to present quality choral music of various styles and eras and to inspire other young and young at heart.
For the already 3rd project with the baroque ensemble Anras the octet has been extended to 11 singers.
The musicians of the ensemble, which largely consists of (former) members of the Tyrolean Provincial Youth Choir, can already draw on a wealth of experience through numerous appearances on various choral and solo projects.
Baroque ensemble Anras
Inspired by numerous participations in the seminars of the association "Cantare et sonare", musicians of the small community Anras in the East Tyrolean Hochpustertal (1,260 m above sea level, 1,300 inhabitants) founded their own ensemble more than two decades ago, primarily the music of Giovanni Gabrieli and his contemporaries (16th and 17th century) interpreted. With two tines and historical replicas (trombones and trumpets), eight musicians have come together to perform church music as an Baroque ensemble Anras, either in the pure form of playing or together with singers.
Under the direction of Mag. Wilfried Kollreider belong to the ensemble: Zinc: Hans Fronthaler, Wilfried Kollreider, trumpet: Manfred Fronthaler, Norbert Weiler, trombone: Roland Fuchs, Erich Pitterl, bassoon: Michaela Fronthaler, Birgit Kollreider.
The organist is the church musician Dominik Bernhard from Weiler im Allgäu (D). He is since October 2018 as a Stiftskapellmeister at the Benedictine Abbey Muri-Gries in Bolzano. In this function, he leads the local pastor's choir and is responsible for the music in the arch-parish of St. Augustin Gries. In addition, he is the church music officer of the Diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone for the church music matters in South Tyrol.
