Stanz - Schrofenstein ruins

Stanz - Schrofenstein ruins

From Stanz, the path leads slightly eastwards and without any major changes in direction to the Schrofenstein ruins.

Starting at the parking lot you head east along the Jakobsweg for about 150 m. This path takes you past the house of baroque master Jakob Prantauer (distillery Christoph Kössler) before you turn left after another 50 m. Now you follow the road 650 m until you get to a farm building and leave the paved road to turn left onto a forest path. The forest path will take you to the last section of your walk. After about 400 m you’ll reach the junction taking you on a narrow path to the castle. From here you already have a wonderful view of Schrofenstein Castle (privately owned). Go back the same route.
