The myth tells of the influence of the elements fire, water, earth and air on Grins, which culminated in the burning of the village in 1955. It tells of the events with the "Albigen" embodying the elements and how it was only through the taming of the Albigen that the healing spring in the Wildbad, above Grins, came about. Paths and trails around the idyllic Grins have been dedicated to the 4 Albigen and bear their names. The walks along the said paths are essential for the health-promoting effects of the medicinal water. The sculptures of the 4 Albigen, placed in very prominent places, are meant to keep alive the memory of days gone by. The combination of the magnificent view over the Landeck valley basin and the sculptures of the Albigen in the background allows the mind to wander and promotes peace and relaxation. Healing encounters with the four elements included.
The myth
The four elements of fire, water, earth and air are embodied in the form of the four Albigen (Natur-Elben) which were tamed by a cunning giant. Thus Grins was spared for many decades from storms, avalanches, floods, fires and crop failures.
But by the careless act of a Grinner citizen escaped the four Albigen in pent-up anger and clashed. Thereupon the Albigen raged in such a way in their natural forces and at every season that the Grinner desperately believed to be close to the end of the world.
It was then the bell of a shepherd, which was known to attract all spirits, that lured the water and fire Alb into a crevice. The depth of the earth swallowed their anger and directed their energy together in something new, a bubbling warm spring, which from now on bears the name "Bell Hole."
An old dairymaid knew a sacred tree, an oak, whose fruits grew a young magnificent oak forest. And by the power of the bell in connection with the power of the sky the air Alb and the earth Alb reconciled again.
So the luck returned in miraculous way to Grins and today still the four Albigen watch benevolently over the village. To them the 4 paths were dedicated which likewise carry their name.

Christian Moschen - the creator of the elements
Creativity and craft - I love to navigate between these two worlds. "The Albigen" - that is, the personified elemental forces of earth, fire, water and air plastic in these great natural spaces to stage - gave me the opportunity to do so.
